Guidelines for Authors

A.   GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Submission Process

  • Submissions must be made in .doc or .docx format only with the file name as the title of the blog. PDFs will not be accepted.
  • No identifying information about the author(s) should be included in the submission and Failure to comply with this rule will result in its immediate rejection.
  • Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
  • Co-authorship is permitted up to 2 authors.
  • The authors must submit a declaration in their mail that the piece submitted is original & not plagiarized from any other sources, and all the references are made therein, according to the relevant guidelines.

Manuscript Guidelines

  • Manuscript should be typewritten in British English on A4 sized paper in MS Word and should range between 800-1500 words in length. Submissions falling below or beyond this range will be considered, depending upon the editor’s discretion.
  • Submission should deal with relevant and contemporary legal and policy issues under the broad theme of Labour and Employment Laws. Submissions should strictly focus on the legal and critical analysis of the covered topics.
  • Submissions that have already been submitted or published elsewhere must not be submitted.
  • They must be error-free, with proper attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Only original content will be accepted. The use of AI tools is strictly prohibited, and such submissions will be outrightly rejected.
  • Paraphrasing or directly using content without proper citation of sources will be considered plagiarism.
  • Plagiarism up to 15% is accepted in the submission; however, any instance of plagiarism found in the conclusion will result in immediate rejection.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Title [Times New Roman, 14 points, 1.5 line spacing, Bold, All Caps, Centre Aligned].

Referencing Requirements

  • References should be only in the form of hyperlinks to relevant legal sources and reference made, including any judgments, laws, treaties or other legal texts which are mentioned.
  • References in End notes must be used only for offline sources and must comply with OSCOLA 4th edition.

C.   RIGHTS OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD

  • The Centre for Labour Laws will hold the moral rights and copyright over the manuscripts published in the CLL Blog.
  • Submissions not in conformity with given guidelines may be rejected at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board of the CLL.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit and change your manuscript content for the original edition and or any subsequent revision along with the right to republish it as part of an anthology in later years.
  • It is the responsibility of the author(s) to ensure that the manuscript does not infringe copyright and due credits are given to all the contributors.
  • The Editorial Board may, at its absolute discretion, waive any of the above rules or amend the process. In the event of any dispute or ambiguity, the decision of the Editorial Board shall be final and binding.

D.    EVALUATION PROCESS

All submissions undergo a three-stage review process, usually spanning over 20 to 30 days. It consists of:

  1. Technical Review: The manuscript will be evaluated for plagiarism, AI usage, language, and compliance with formatting guidelines.
  2. Content Review: The manuscript will be assessed for contemporariness, relevance, subject matter proficiency and novelty. It will be sent to authors for incorporating necessary changes.
  3. Final Stage Review: The manuscript will be reviewed for overall compliance with editorial standards.
