NLIU Journal of Labour and Employment Law (NLIU JLEL)The NLIU Journal for Labour and Employment Laws (NLIU-JLEL) is a student-edited, peer-reviewed academic publication established under the aegis of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. The Journal aims to advance informed debate and scholarship in the evolving field of labour and employment law, while fostering interdisciplinary engagement with allied areas such as industrial relations, social security, human rights, and corporate governance. Since its inception, NLIU-JLEL has served as a platform for academicians, practitioners, policymakers, and students to contribute to the discourse on contemporary labour law challenges in India and abroad. The Journal publishes high-quality articles, research papers, case comments, and book reviews that explore both doctrinal and policy dimensions of labour and employment regulation. Volume IV of the Journal continues this mission by focusing on the transformation of labour markets in the digital age, with particular emphasis on the gig and platform economy. It seeks to critically examine issues such as worker classification, minimum wage entitlements, social security, dispute resolution, and the role of the state in ensuring equitable working conditions in non-traditional employment arrangements. Through its rigorous editorial process and double-blind peer review, NLIU-JLEL strives to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and research quality. The Journal is committed to contributing to the development of labour jurisprudence in India and promoting a fair, inclusive, and future-ready labour law framework.
